The Lloyd-Jones Meakin Group worked with one of Australia's leading oil refining and marketing companies to improve their driver safety performance. As a first step, a Current State Analysis survey was conducted, involving interviews with a range of passenger vehicle and tanker truck drivers. The results highlighted a disparity between the ways driver safety was treated compared to other aspects of the organisation's safety.

In order to improve the profile of driver safety, an improvement team was established and The Lloyd-Jones Meakin Group participated as a key team member. LJM's role included providing strategic advice to the team as well as developing standards, procedures and communications packages.

A high level of support was achieved at all levels of the organisation. A key element in the program's success was its seamless integration with the company's existing systems. There have been significant reductions, both in the number and severity of driving incidents.
